The Patagonia Mountain Storm jacket is not the lightest waterproof jacket from Patagonia but it is very hard wearing and can cope easily with torrential rain and mountain blizzards.
The 2 layer, waterproof breathable H2No barrier, sealed seams and hanging mesh and taffeta liner all combine to make the Storm jacket very comfortable. Storm flaps on the zippers stop them getting snagged when you are out on the hills whilst reinforced shoulders and elbows add durability.
More than the lightest waterproofs around the Storm jacket feels reassuringly bomb proof and that it can really stand up to the very worst the weather can throw at you and it. Purpose built for light mountaineering and skiing where there is more chance that you'll need a little extra protection.
